Sky vac gutter unblocking

Guttering needs regular cleaning. You’d be amazed at the amount of silt, vegetation and foreign objects that accumulate up there over 12 months. But the autumn is particularly bad for leaves blocking gutters so that rainwater backs up until it starts running down your walls, causing damp.

Common objects we find in people’s gutters

Here are some of the most common finds we make in people’s gutters:

  • Children’s toys. Yes, Action Man or Buzz Lightyear has been parachuting again.
  • Tennis balls. A budding Andy Murray was a bit too enthusiastic, but tennis balls are the perfect size and shape to block gutters.
  • Birds and squirrels often make themselves at home at roof level.
  • Firework debris. What comes up must come down, including last year’s Bonfire Night rockets.
  • Nature colonises any available space and seedlings love putting roots down in the damp silt in your gutter.

Why risk climbing a ladder when we can suction out your gutter?

On a serious note, climbing up to your gutters is a potentially dangerous job and using a pressure washer can cause more problems because they dislodge tiles and push water inside your roof, causing more damp problems.

That’s why we prefer to keep our feet firmly on the ground and use our Skyvac equipment. We don’t need ladders because we can reach up to 36ft off the ground, making it a very safe solution for multi-storey buildings.

We use a carbon fibre extendable pole with CCTV camera attached to find problems and assess your gutters’ condition so that our Health and Safety qualified team can quickly and efficiently suction up blockages and replace any damaged sections.

Skyvac is effective on commercial and domestic properties and we can get to previously hard to reach areas such as courtyards, above conservatories, blocks of flats, Victorian houses, office blocks and hospitals.
