Don’t be caught out by autumn leaves

Kicking around crisp autumn leaves on the ground can bring back fond memories of childhood and heralds the changing seasons but there is another thought it ought to conjure up.

Over the summer we’ve seen flooding and the damage and cost that heavy rainfall causes when drainage systems can’t cope with the deluge of water anymore.

During the autumn any problems with waterflow into drainage systems is exacerbated because drains, gutters and gullies have become clogged with fallen leaves and other plant debris. When this happens, it prevents water from flowing freely from gutters, pavements, drives and roads and leads to standing puddles or water backing up from gutters.

The good news is that maintaining your gutters, gullies and drains is easy when you can call on the equipment and expertise of a professional company like Drain and Sewer Services and it can be done with minimal disruption. For large jobs we have our own truck-mounted equipment operated by a specialist team so that even hard to reach gutters can be cleaned safely and without ladders, using a Skyvac suction unit and CCTV attached to an extendable carbon fibre pole to assess problem areas.

Rather than waiting until a problem occurs to remind you that your drains need cleaning, we provide a bespoke maintenance plan to suit your property.
