The Met Office declared February 2020 the wettest February on record, with floods devastating families and businesses across the country.

At Drain and Sewer Services we continue to invest in the newest resources to help customers recover from flooding more quickly.

Our latest jet unblocking and floodwater suction capability

It’s essential to have the right tools for the job and at Drain and Sewer Services, we continually invest in our equipment, fleet and team to make sure we’re prepared for whatever task comes our way – no matter how large, small or complex.

Our most recent addition is the RCV Ultra Cleaner Recycler lorry. Its arrival is timely as we continue to experience very wet weather, and April is just around the corner. Our brand-new recycler lorry is very efficient at unblocking drains and removing large amounts of standing water. It also offers an environmentally friendly system that filters and recycles jetting water, helping us to deliver a far more economic service to our customers.

Here are just some of the RCV Ultra Cleaner Recycler unit’s impressive stats:

  • A 3,200-gallon tank, split between 1,200 gallon fresh water and 2000 gallon debris
  • Its vacuum pump can pull at 20-25m vertical with maximum of 40-45m vertical
  • 200m horizontal suction
  • Recycled jetting water goes through a filtration system to 0.05mm
  • Auxiliary hose reel with 120m of hose

Our emergency lines are answered by managers who know the right people and equipment to send out, in order to deal with our customer’s needs. And when the flood waters are cleared, we take the time to assess the causes and our actions to prevent further flooding.
